Grab Pte. Ltd. · Singapore

Three and a half years on full-stack systems for Grab's finance and operations teams. Not the consumer app — the platforms behind it, where the failure mode isn't a bad review but a compliance penalty.

Invoicing for GrabFood merchants

I designed and built an invoicing platform for the finance operations teams in Thailand and Indonesia, automating daily and monthly invoice generation for GrabFood merchants. The work it replaced was manual, which meant it was both expensive in payroll and occasionally late — and late invoicing in those markets carries compliance penalties. Automating it removed both costs at once.

A data warehouse for reconciliation and fraud

I spearheaded a centralised data warehouse for financial reconciliation and fraud detection, onboarding more than ten data streams carrying millions of records a month. This was part of the groundwork for IPO readiness: being able to reconcile the money, from any direction, on demand.

Bulk data at merger scale

I led development of an internal bulk data management platform processing over seven million rows a month. Among its uses was the post-merger Grab–Uber data migration, which is the kind of job where the tooling has to be trusted before anyone will let it touch production data.

Customer service tooling

I also led development and ongoing maintenance of an internal customer service platform used by operations teams across the organisation — the tool people actually sat in all day, which is a different design problem from one people touch once a month.
